Since June 2, the Nam Branch of Daegu Credit Guarantee Foundation has been in operation, serving the areas of Nam-gu in Daegu, Songhyeon-dong in Dalseo-gu, and Gachang-myeon in Dalseong-gun. The branch provides guarantee consultations and issues guarantee certificates for small business owners in these areas.
This is expected to alleviate the inconvenience previously experienced by customers who had to use branches in other districts, such as Jung-gu, for guarantee consultations and applications. It is also anticipated to significantly improve financial accessibility.
The Nam Branch is the eighth branch of Daegu Credit Guarantee Foundation and was established as part of efforts to expand infrastructure to address regional disparities in guarantee demand and to strengthen community-based financial support.
Jinwoo Park, Chairman of Daegu Credit Guarantee Foundation, stated, "The opening of the Nam Branch marks the beginning of more accessible financial support for local small business owners. We will enhance service quality so that more customers can receive prompt and practical support, and we will actively consider opening additional branches in response to future demand."
On the same day, a business agreement ceremony for the 'Small Business Management Stabilization Fund Support' was held, and a memorandum of understanding was signed with Nam-gu District Office and iM Bank.
Under the agreement, Nam-gu District Office will contribute 300 million won to the foundation, which will use these funds to launch a special guarantee program for the 'Nam-gu Small Business Management Stabilization Fund' totaling 3 billion won.
Eligible recipients include small enterprises and small business owners operating in Nam-gu who have been in business for at least three months and have a credit score of 595 or higher. Loans of up to 20 million won are available.
In particular, the foundation will offer preferential benefits such as a 100% guarantee ratio and a fixed guarantee fee of 0.8% per annum, while Nam-gu District Office will provide an annual interest subsidy of 2% for two years. This low-interest funding program will be implemented starting June 23.
Jaegu Cho, Mayor of Nam-gu District Office in Daegu, said, "I hope that the opening of the Nam Branch and the implementation of the special guarantee program will serve as a solid foundation for stabilizing the businesses of local small business owners. Nam-gu District Office will continue to provide various forms of cooperation and support to ensure the stability of livelihoods and to revitalize the local economy."
