Seungro Lee Joins Residents for the First "Danggeun" Communication Project

Seongbuk District in Seoul announced on June 14 that it held the first event of its resident participation communication project, "A Day with the District Mayor? Of Course, It's Danggeun!" on June 13. In this project, the mayor of Seongbuk District receives stories from local residents through the official Danggeun Market account and visits the sites in person.

On this day, Seungro Lee, mayor of Seongbuk District, visited Louis Kindergarten in Gilum-dong and participated as a one-day helper in the "Kids Garden Creation Event," which was held as a parent participation class. This event was the first case selected from resident stories submitted via Danggeun Market, following a request from Louis Kindergarten asking for assistance in organizing the Kids Garden Creation Event at the kindergarten.

Prior to the event, Mayor Lee received preliminary training from an instructor at the Bugaksan Garden Support Center and prepared for his role as a one-day helper by learning about different plant species and planting methods. On the day of the event, he joined the kindergarten children in planting flowers in the "Kids Garden" at Areum Children’s Park and took part in various hands-on activities, including family photo sessions and decorating tree nameplates.

He also spent time naturally communicating with parents and teachers while assisting the children with their activities. The event will be released through the official Seongbuk District YouTube channel, "Seongbuk TV."

Mayor Lee stated, "I will become a district mayor who directly enters the daily lives of residents and communicates with them," adding, "I will practice open, on-site administration that responds to even the smallest stories."
