Kim Byungki, the newly appointed floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, appointed Moon Jinseok as the new chief secretary for parliamentary operations on June 13, 2025.
Moon is a member of the original pro-Lee Jaemyung group known as the "Group of Seven." During the party's first leadership term, he served as the chief of strategy and planning for the parliamentary group, working alongside Kim, who was then the chief deputy secretary-general.
Moon stated, "I feel a great sense of responsibility being appointed as the chief secretary for parliamentary operations of the ruling party," and added, "I will do my utmost for the success of the Lee Jaemyung administration."
Heo Young was appointed as the new chief secretary for parliamentary policy, and Park Sanghyuk was appointed as the new chief secretary for parliamentary communications.
Heo served as the Democratic Party's secretary on the National Assembly's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, while Park previously served as the party's deputy secretary-general for digital strategy.
