Significant Improvement in Student Practicum Environment
Thanks to Equipment Donation from Yonsei Language Development Research Center
On the afternoon of June 12, the faculty and students of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at Dongmyung University held an opening ceremony for Room 2 of the Dongmyung Audiology Clinical Center.
The newly opened Room 2 was established based on audiological testing equipment donated by Ahn Hyunsook, Director of Yonsei Language Development Research Center. It is equipped with state-of-the-art devices such as an audiometric test booth, pure-tone audiometer, tympanic endoscope, and hearing aids, allowing students to practice in an environment that closely resembles an actual clinical setting.
After the opening ceremony, students conducted a demonstration of hearing tests using the equipment themselves.
Lee Sujeong, head of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, stated, "This meaningful donation has significantly improved our practicum education environment," adding, "We will continue to support our students so that they can develop their expertise by handling various clinical devices and grow into outstanding audiology professionals for people with hearing loss."
Room 1 of the Dongmyung Audiology Clinical Center is located in Room 307 of the Student Welfare Building, while the newly opened Room 2 is located in Room 322 of the same building. According to a university official, the opening of this new facility is expected to further strengthen the university's focus on practical training and the cultivation of field-ready professionals.
