Commendations for Distinguished Service,
Awards for the Elderly Human Rights Practice Contest, and More
Chungnam Province announced on June 13 that it held a ceremony to commemorate the 9th Elder Abuse Prevention Day at the main auditorium of the Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services.
This event was organized to improve awareness regarding the protection of elderly rights and the prevention of elder abuse, as well as to foster a senior-friendly social atmosphere.
The ceremony was attended by approximately 250 people, including officials from the provincial and city/county governments, representatives from related organizations and groups, and local residents. The program included commendations for distinguished service, an awards ceremony for the Elderly Human Rights Practice Contest, and a seminar.
A provincial official stated, "We are focusing our administrative efforts on securing next year's national funding to establish an additional specialized institution that will cover the western region, following the existing elder protection agencies in the northern and southern regions. We will do our utmost to create a social environment where seniors are treated with dignity and can live safely."
