Busan Urban Corporation Holds Seminar on Community-Led Urban Regeneration and Public-Private Cooperation

Busan Urban Corporation (BMC, President Shin Changho) announced on June 13 that it held a seminar on June 5 in collaboration with the Architecture and Urban Research Institute and the Korea Association of Urban Regeneration, under the theme of 'Community-Led Urban Regeneration and Public-Private Cooperation.'


The seminar was attended by approximately 100 urban regeneration experts and officials from urban regeneration support centers nationwide, including Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation; Park Hwanyong, President of the Architecture and Urban Research Institute; Lee Jaewoo, President of the Korea Association of Urban Regeneration; Kim Jinhui, Team Leader at the Daejeon Urban Regeneration Support Center; Jeon Eunho, Director at Mora B&Co; and Byun Hyesun, Head of the Chungbuk Urban Regeneration Support Center.


The seminar introduced the current status of regional regeneration in Busan and future directions for its promotion. Kim Jinhui, Team Leader, gave a presentation on 'Post-Management Evaluation Systems for Urban Regeneration Projects and the Roles of Each Stakeholder,'

while Jeon Eunho, Director, presented on 'Development Directions for Innovative Regional Regeneration Models and the Required Capabilities of Intermediate Support Organizations.'


Afterwards, discussions were held on topics such as the management and activation strategies for shared facilities established through urban regeneration projects, and strategies to respond to changes in metropolitan urban regeneration policies.


Lee Jaewoo, President of the Korea Association of Urban Regeneration, served as the moderator. Panelists included Cho Hyeri, Head of the Urban Regeneration Support Center at Busan Urban Corporation; Jung Ina, Head of the Center at the Architecture and Urban Research Institute; and Byun Hyesun, Head of the Chungbuk Urban Regeneration Support Center. Together, they discussed public-private cooperation strategies for community-led urban regeneration projects.


Shin Changho, President of Busan Urban Corporation, stated, "We will actively incorporate the various opinions presented at this seminar into our future projects to ensure that Busan can emerge as a leading city in urban regeneration," adding, "We plan to continuously provide opportunities to explore the future direction of urban regeneration."
