New Training Programs Introduced, Including Safety Management Systems

This training is provided for employees of POSCO, its affiliates, and partner companies. The company aims to spread a comprehensive safety culture throughout the organization, and the newly enhanced training programs are being applied across various practical fields.

The main courses include safety for working at heights and handling heavy objects (use of personal protective equipment, hands-on experience with fall protection and securing lines), gas safety (understanding gas flow, handling high-pressure and by-product gases, managing confined spaces), equipment safety (ILS operation and management standards), and electrical safety (electrocution prevention and explosion-proof equipment training).

In particular, the newly introduced safety management system training is designed to establish a voluntary and systematic approach to safety management. All lectures are conducted either in classrooms or experiential training zones within the Global Safety Center.

Each subject is offered in two-hour sessions from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. and from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Applicants wishing to participate must register at least two days prior to the training date.

A POSCO Pohang Steelworks representative stated, "Through enhanced training, we will spread a safety culture that includes all affiliates and partner companies," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to create a safe and happy working environment in the future."

POSCO has been consistently conducting accident case studies and experiential training for exemplary employees of overseas subsidiaries, and employees from various countries, including Mexico, Thailand, Argentina, and Italy, are participating in these programs to further strengthen global safety capabilities.
