High Marks for Wildfire Prevention in Joint Evaluation by Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Korea Forest Service

On the 11th, Chungnam Province announced that it had been selected as an excellent metropolitan local government in the forestry sector in the "2025 Joint Evaluation of Local Governments" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Korea Forest Service.
This evaluation comprehensively analyzed the overall performance of forestry policy implementation by all 17 metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide, and the award ceremony was held that day at the Government Complex Daejeon.
In the previous evaluation, the province achieved outstanding results in all six categories: fostering healthy and sustainable forest resources, establishing systems for landslide prevention and response, achievements in wildfire prevention, performance in forest road infrastructure, results in forest pest and disease control, and efforts to promote the utilization of wood.
Ko Daeyeol, Director of Forest Resources, said, "Based on this achievement, we will continue to strengthen forestry policies to improve the quality of life for residents and to create a sustainable forest ecosystem," adding, "We will do our best to manage sustainable forest resources for future generations as well."
