Operation of Customized Curricula and Employment Support through University-Industry Cooperation
Dong-A University (President Lee Haewoo) announced on June 11 that it has been selected as a final recipient for the '2026-2028 GKS (Global Korea Scholarship) University-Industry Cooperation (UIC) Study University' program, organized by the National Institute for International Education under the Ministry of Education.
The 'GKS UIC' program is a government-sponsored global scholarship initiative that aims to attract and nurture international students through customized education focused on science and engineering, as well as strengthened university-industry cooperation. It is a global talent development model that also includes employment support in connection with domestic companies.

Dong-A University achieved the result of being allocated 10 out of a total of 100 available slots nationwide. Accordingly, from the 2026 academic year to the 2028 academic year, the university plans to select a total of 30 international scholarship students, with 5 students each year in the Department of Food and Nutrition and the Department of Pharmaceutical Life Sciences.
The selected scholarship students will receive one year of Korean language education at Dong-A University's affiliated Korean Language Institute. After obtaining at least Level 3 on the TOPIK, they will be admitted to their respective major departments. Comprehensive financial support will be provided during their degree program, including full tuition coverage, monthly living expenses, and round-trip airfare.
President Lee Haewoo stated, "With this selection, we are now able to build global competitiveness even in majors such as Food and Nutrition and Pharmaceutical Life Sciences, which have traditionally faced challenges in attracting international students. We will prepare practical support measures to improve the living conditions of international students and to strengthen employment connections."
Dong-A University is enhancing its global educational competitiveness by operating a variety of international scholarship programs, including GKS undergraduate and graduate degree programs, distinguished exchange scholarships, Korea-Japan joint scholarships, and international reconstruction scholarships.
