Breaking, Poomsae, and Sparring Events
Over 3,500 Participants from Across the Country
Gurye County in South Jeolla Province announced on June 11 that it will host the 23rd Korea Women's Taekwondo Federation President's National Taekwondo Competition at the indoor gymnasium for eight days from June 12 to 19.
This competition will feature more than 3,500 athletes, from elementary school students to the general division, competing in three events: breaking, poomsae, and sparring. At the opening ceremony on June 12, a Taekwondo demonstration team will showcase spectacular techniques and performances, providing entertainment for the audience.
The county expects that this event will help expand the base of Taekwondo and revitalize the local economy.
Kim Soonho, the county governor, stated, "We are very pleased to welcome teams and visitors from across the country to Gurye," and added, "We will do our utmost to support the athletes so that they can compete in the best possible condition during the tournament."
Meanwhile, Gurye is home to beautiful natural surroundings and excellent sports facilities, making it a popular venue for various sporting events and a notable location for training camps.
