On June 11, Ansan City announced that the "Youth Center Sangsang Station," established under the railroad near Gojan Station, held its opening ceremony on June 10 and began official operations.

Sangsang Station is a lifestyle-oriented platform designed to allow young people to freely gather, interact, learn, and pursue challenges in their daily lives. It is the city's second youth hub space, following "Sangsangdaero" in Wad-dong, Danwon-gu.

This new Sangsang Station was created by remodeling Station-G (formerly Gyeonggi Startup Space), which had been established on an unused railway site, and Station-A, which had operated as a cultural and arts platform. It features a 651-square-meter indoor space and a 441-square-meter outdoor area called "Eoullim Square." The project involved a total investment of 750 million won, including 250 million won in provincial funds.

During the remodeling process, the city notably utilized a decommissioned narrow-gauge train car, evoking nostalgia for older generations and serving as a space to convey the region's history to the younger generation. This is part of the city's vision for the space.

The city has created 14 spaces within five buildings, including a train cafe, a book cafe, the Sangsang Lounge, a shared kitchen, a shared office, dance and band practice rooms, program rooms, and counseling rooms. The outdoor deck area, "Eoullim Square," has been designed to accommodate busking performances and planned content events by young people.

Through Sangsang Station, the city plans to offer a variety of programs, including support for young entrepreneurs, educational and counseling programs, specialized cultural and arts projects, youth project support, and community activity support.

Lee Minguen, Mayor of Ansan, stated, "Sangsang Station, located in the unique setting beneath the railroad, will become an open space where young people can freely gather, share creative ideas, and envision both the history and future of the region together."
