Sejung Nanum Foundation Signs Agreement with Busan Environment Corporation for 'Creating Roofs Full of Happiness for Low-Income Families' Project

Sejung Nanum Foundation (Chairman Park Soonho) announced on the morning of June 11 that it had signed an agreement with Busan Environment Corporation (President Lee Geunhee) to support the 'Creating Roofs Full of Happiness for Low-Income Families' project, and that it would provide 30 million KRW in support for the slate roof improvement project again this year.

With this agreement, held in the conference room of Busan Environment Corporation, Sejung Nanum Foundation is continuing the project for the seventh consecutive year. The foundation plans to support the improvement of slate roofs for approximately 20 households this year, and to date, it has provided a total of 170 million KRW in support to over 110 households.

The 'Creating Roofs Full of Happiness for Low-Income Families' project is a social contribution initiative that aims to improve the health and residential safety of low-income households by removing old slate roofs containing asbestos, a Class 1 carcinogen, and replacing them with safe roofs. Sejung Nanum Foundation is alleviating the economic burden on low-income families by providing up to 1.5 million KRW per household to cover their share of the expenses.

Park Soonho, Chairman of Sejung Nanum Foundation, emphasized, "Slate roofs can pose a serious threat to health," adding, "This project goes beyond simple facility improvement; it is an important social responsibility to ensure that low-income families can live in a safer and more comfortable environment."

In addition, Sejung Nanum Foundation is carrying out various projects to improve the residential environment for vulnerable groups. In particular, through the 'Home Repair with Love' project, which began in 2008, the foundation has improved the living conditions of 310 households to date, and continues to engage in practical sharing activities for sustainable development in the local community.

Lee Geunhee, President of Busan Environment Corporation, expressed gratitude for the foundation's continued cooperation and said, "We will actively promote the slate roof improvement project so that citizens can live in a safer environment."
