The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will operate the '2025 Ieum Education Pilot Daycare Centers and Kindergarten-Elementary Transition Teachers Workshop' by region in preparation for the integration of daycare and kindergarten.
The provincial office announced on the 11th that, as part of the support project for the pilot operation of Ieum Education, it will hold a total of four workshops by the 18th, targeting teachers from pilot daycare centers and kindergarten-elementary transition teachers in the province.
Kindergarten-elementary transition teachers are educators who play a bridging role between daycare centers and elementary schools in Ieum Education. The term reflects the idea of warmly welcoming young children to school and accompanying them from daycare centers.

These teachers are responsible for understanding the developmental characteristics of young children and the curriculum, and for providing detailed support to ensure a successful transition and adaptation process when children enter elementary school.
This workshop will cover topics such as understanding the purpose of Ieum Education and the role of transition teachers, strategies for linking early childhood and elementary curricula, discussions on ways to promote cooperation between institutions, and the development of joint practical tasks.
An official from the provincial office said, "Through this workshop, we expect to further promote mutual understanding and cooperation between daycare and elementary school teachers, strengthen the practical capacity of Ieum Education in the field, and lay the foundation for preparing for the integration of daycare and kindergarten."
