Support for Treatment of Gaming-Related Mental Disorders
Up to 1 Million Won, 70% Per Session
The Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (President Kim Taeyeol) is expanding the treatment linkage services of the 'Busan Game Overindulgence Counseling and Treatment Center' to the western Busan area in order to strengthen support for the treatment of mental disorders caused by excessive gaming.

On this day, the agency signed a business agreement with Thepyeonhan Mental Health Clinic (Director Kwon Gitae), increasing the number of partner medical institutions from eight to nine.
With this agreement, the center's medical network, which had previously been concentrated in the eastern districts such as Haeundae-gu, Dong-gu, Yeonje-gu, and Dongnae-gu, has now expanded to include the western Busan area, such as Sasang-gu.
The current partner medical institutions are as follows: Thepyeonhan Mental Health Clinic, Inje University Haeundae Paik Hospital, Kim Wonmook Memorial Bongsaeng Hospital, Haeundae Jamyeong Hospital, IGonggam Mental Health Clinic, Yonsei Soul Mental Health Clinic, Seomyeon Nanum Mental Health Clinic, Kang Byunggu Mental Health Clinic, and Ainurian Park Mental Health Clinic, totaling nine locations.
The center connects citizens who require psychiatric treatment due to excessive gaming with appropriate medical institutions after a comprehensive psychological assessment. It provides financial support for treatment, covering 70% of the cost per session up to a maximum of 1 million won per person. Last year, a total of 259 cases received treatment cost support.
Kim Taeyeol, President of the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, stated, "This agreement is a meaningful step in providing more accessible support for resolving excessive gaming issues to citizens in western Busan. We will continue to strengthen an integrated support system, from prevention and counseling to treatment."
The Busan Game Overindulgence Counseling and Treatment Center is a specialized institution for excessive gaming operated by Busan Metropolitan City since 2015. Clinical psychologists and professional counselors are stationed at the center, providing free counseling, psychological assessments, and treatment linkage services for citizens.
