The Korea Forest Service announced on June 10 that it will hold the "2025 Wood Culture Festival" at Boramae Park in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, from June 14 to 15.
The festival has been held annually since 2012 to promote the benefits of domestic wood and encourage its use in daily life.
On the first day of the festival, the Korea Forest Service will offer programs such as the "Knock-Knock Wood King Contest," where participants can directly experience domestic wood; the "Mok-Honshik," which shares stories of couples married for five years connected by wood; and "Challenge! Wooden Bell," a quiz program to learn accurate information about wood.
On the second day, there will be the "Dad’s Table" cooking competition using wooden kitchen utensils and forest products, as well as the "Knock-Knock Mok-Sori Talk Show," where tables and chairs made from domestic wood will be donated to social welfare facilities.
In addition, more than 20 hands-on booths will be available at the festival site, offering activities such as making wooden rings, creating wooden vases, and trying out wooden toys for children, so that people of all ages can easily participate.
Lim Sangseop, Commissioner of the Korea Forest Service, said, "We hope this event will further encourage the use of wood in everyday life."
