On June 9, Pyeongtaek City announced that it held an "Interagency Meeting for Establishing Pyeongtaek City's AI Vision" in the main situation room at City Hall. The city plans to set an AI vision spanning six sectors: industry, urban development, agriculture, health and welfare, education, and administration.

The meeting was attended by 18 organizations and departments, including the city government, Pyeongtaek Welfare Foundation, and Pyeongtaek Industry Promotion Agency. Participants shared key issues and policy goals for each sector and discussed directions and actionable tasks for integrating AI technology throughout the administration.

Starting with this meeting, the city will form a dedicated "AI Vision Task Force (TF)" led by the Deputy Mayor to begin establishing the vision. The TF aims to go beyond simply introducing technology by exploring practical and feasible AI-driven administrative innovation measures, drawing on each department's administrative experience and policy issues.

The city plans to incorporate key discussion points and ideas generated by the TF into the "Pyeongtaek City AI Industry Promotion Master Plan," which is currently being developed. In addition, through deliberations by the "Pyeongtaek City AI Committee," these ideas will be prioritized for review in the city’s mid- to long-term policies and budget planning.

Pyeongtaek City Mayor Jung Jangsun stated, "AI is a technology that prepares us for the future and offers the most practical solutions to current challenges. We will promote AI policies that reflect voices from the field, enabling citizens to experience tangible benefits and fostering growth alongside local businesses."
