Science and ICT Minister Sangim Yoo emphasized the need for industrialization through collaboration among academia, industry, and research institutes, stating that "quantum technology will change the paradigm of the future economy and security."

In his congratulatory speech at the "2025 Asia Future Business Forum" held at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul on the 11th, Minister Yoo stated, "We are now at the starting point of a great transformation, where quantum science and technology are overcoming limitations and opening up new possibilities."

He highlighted the potential of quantum technology, saying, "Quantum computing can instantly solve complex calculations that would take tens of thousands of years for conventional computers. Quantum communication enables completely secure communication that cannot be hacked. Quantum sensors can detect subtle changes that existing technologies cannot sense."

He also pointed out that major countries such as the United States, China, and the European Union (EU) are making large-scale national investments in quantum technology and strengthening export controls on technologies and components. He said, "It is a more critical time than ever for Korea to take proactive measures to stay ahead in the global quantum supremacy race."

Minister Yoo added, "The National Assembly has unanimously enacted the Quantum Technology Industry Act, providing a legal foundation. This year, we have secured a budget of approximately 200 billion won, significantly expanding investment in research and development (R&D), talent cultivation, and infrastructure. For a successful leap into the quantum era, national policy support, basic research by universities and research institutes, and innovative ideas and investments from companies must be combined."
