Since 2019, Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province has been operating the BaroMinwon Response Team to address civil complaints closely related to daily life, such as repairing electric scooters, changing light bulbs, replacing door handles, and repairing window screens.
In its first year, the team resolved approximately 1,100 civil complaints. In 2024, the number rose to 2,633 cases, and by June 2025, the team had addressed more than 13,500 cases of everyday inconveniences, establishing itself as an indispensable public service for residents.
As the aging population accelerates, Yeongyang County's BaroMinwon Response Team has become the hands and feet of the community by providing meticulous welfare services through its "on-site administration." For vulnerable groups, the county also supports material costs of up to 100,000 won.
In particular, from April to September, during the peak heat season, the team focuses on providing window screen repair services. In 2024, they completed 281 window screen repairs, and as of May 2025, they have carried out 54 repairs.
County Governor Oh Dochang said, "I encourage everyone to actively use the BaroMinwon Response Team, which can resolve minor household inconveniences with just a phone call," adding, "We will continue to do our best to develop policies that serve as a 'helping hand' to address the needs of our residents."
