Dong-Eui Science University (President Kim Youngdo) has achieved the milestone of advancing to the 2025 KUSF University Baseball U-League Championship Tournament just five years after establishing its baseball team.
On June 10, Dong-Eui Science University announced, "Our baseball team secured its first regional preliminary victory and earned a spot in the championship tournament by recording 8 wins and 1 loss in 9 games, earning 24 points and a winning percentage of 0.889 in the U-League Group D preliminaries."
The Dong-Eui Science University baseball team, under the leadership of Coach Yeom Jongseok?a key player in the Lotte Giants' championship run?has shown steady growth. This season, Group D (Gyeongsang region) was considered the "group of death" among the five groups and 51 universities nationwide, but Dong-Eui Science University proved its strength by claiming first place ahead of strong competitors.
In this Group D, Dong-Eui Science University, Dong-A University, Busan Institute of Science and Technology, Suseong University, and Dong-Eui University all secured spots in the championship tournament.
Coach Yeom Jongseok stated, "It is thanks to the players' quiet dedication to training and giving their best in every game," adding, "Since the championship tournament is played in a knockout format, we will approach every game as if it were the final and aim for our first championship title."
The KUSF University Baseball U-League is co-hosted by the Korea University Baseball Federation and the Korea Baseball Softball Association. The league divides the country into five regions (A to E) for preliminaries, after which the top five teams from each region (a total of 25 teams) will compete for the championship in a tournament held at Mokdong Baseball Stadium in Seoul this September.
A representative from Dong-Eui Science University said, "Achieving such a significant result just five years after establishing the baseball team makes everyone at the university proud," and added, "We will actively support our players so they can continue to grow."
