Daejeon City Abolishes Restrictions on Small Business Wage Support Such as Annual Sales Limits

All Restrictions on Annual Sales, Number of Supported Employees, and Participation History Removed
1.5 Million Won Support per Newly Hired Employee... Applications Accepted Until End of November

Daejeon City Abolishes Restrictions on Small Business Wage Support Such as Annual Sales Limits

The Daejeon city government announced that it will significantly ease the application requirements for the "2025 Small Business Wage Support Program" to assist local small business owners struggling with rising labor costs.

By abolishing major restrictions such as annual sales, the number of supported employees, and support history, the city has effectively lowered the barriers so that virtually all small business owners can benefit from the program.

With this revision, the previous restriction of "annual sales of 300 million won or less" has been lifted, allowing all small business owners in Daejeon to apply for support regardless of their sales volume.

The previous limit of supporting up to two employees per business has also been removed, enabling more flexible support based on the actual size of employment. In addition, businesses that participated in the program within the past two years are now eligible to reapply.

Eligible applicants are small business owners who newly hired workers aged 18 or older (born before January 1, 2007) between January 1 and September 10 of this year. If the newly hired employee is continuously employed for at least three months and remains enrolled in the four major social insurances, the business owner can receive 1.5 million won in wage support per employee.

Applications will be accepted until November 28, and detailed information about the program can be found in the announcement posted on Daejeon City's SME support portal, "Daejeon Biz."

Kwon Kyungmin, Director of Economic Affairs for Daejeon City, stated, "This policy improvement reflects the changing employment environment and the voices from the field," and added, "We will continue to pursue effective policies so that more small business owners can receive support for business stability."
