Focus on Enhancing Welfare, Infrastructure, and Revitalizing the Local Economy
Yongsan District in Seoul has submitted its first supplementary budget proposal for 2025 to the Yongsan District Council. The proposed supplementary budget amounts to 712.2 billion won, an increase of 41.1 billion won compared to the original budget. The budget focuses on improving residents' convenience and welfare, as well as creating a safer living environment through the maintenance of infrastructure such as roads and sewer systems.
The education, culture, and tourism sectors have been allocated 8.8 billion won, while 12.4 billion won has been earmarked for safety and disaster-related expenses. These allocations are intended to meet the diverse educational and cultural needs of residents and to strengthen infrastructure in preparation for safety incidents and natural disasters such as heavy rain and snow.
In addition, 590 million won has been allocated for the issuance and operation of the 'Yongsan Sarang Gift Certificate' and the 'Yongsan Public Delivery App Gift Certificate.' Through these initiatives, the district aims to revitalize the local economy and support small business owners. The supplementary budget proposal will be finalized after deliberation at the 298th first regular session of the Yongsan District Council, scheduled for June 23.
Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan District, stated, "This supplementary budget focuses on enhancing residents' welfare through support for education, culture, and community sports facilities, as well as strengthening everyday safety. We will strive to implement effective projects that residents can truly feel, thereby helping to improve their quality of life."
