Suspects who threw eggs at Baek Hye-ryeon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, in front of the Constitutional Court in March have been referred to the prosecution.

The Jongno Police Station in Seoul announced on the 10th that two men, one in his 30s and one in his 60s, have been sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of joint assault.
According to the police investigation, the man in his 30s purchased six eggs at a nearby convenience store and threw them from across the street. The man in his 60s, who was standing next to him, also participated by throwing one egg that was being held by the first suspect.
On March 20, during the impeachment trial of former President Yoon, Representative Baek was hit in the face by an egg while holding a press conference in support of Yoon's impeachment in front of the main gate of the Constitutional Court.
Immediately after the incident, the police formed a dedicated investigation team, requested forensic analysis of the eggs collected at the scene from the National Forensic Service, and identified the suspects by analyzing CCTV footage.
