RM and V Complete Military Service on June 10
Following Jin and J-Hope’s Discharge

"No more returning to the unit, I will return to the stage now." (RM)
RM (real name Kim Namjoon) and V (real name Kim Taehyung) of the group BTS were both discharged from the military on June 10.
On this day, the two visited the soccer field at Shinbuk-eup Sports Park in Yulmun-ri, Shinbuk-eup, Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, where they greeted the fans who had gathered. RM appeared wearing sunglasses and playing the saxophone, while V appeared with a bright smile holding a bouquet of flowers.
RM said, "There were difficult and painful moments, but I realized that thanks to the soldiers, we were able to carry out our activities with peace of mind. I am concerned about the juniors who remain, but I hope we can all meet again in good health in society."
He also expressed his gratitude to the fans, saying, "Thank you to ARMY (the fandom name) for waiting. I will return as BTS's RM and work hard to be amazing again in society." When asked what he wanted to do most after discharge, he chose performing, saying, "I will work hard on my album and return to the stage."

V said, "There are still officers and soldiers who took good care of me remaining in the unit. I hope they stay safe and complete their service without injury. Thank you for taking good care of me. Now, I will go out into society and do my best to become an impressive person."
He added, "Through my military service, I was able to strengthen both my body and mind. I want to run to ARMY as soon as possible, but if you wait just a little longer, I will return to the stage with an amazing performance." Both of them expressed their strong desire to return, saying, "Performing is what we want to do most."
RM enlisted in the 15th Infantry Division Army Band in December 2023, and V enlisted on the same day in the 2nd Corps Military Police Special Task Force. Both have now completed their service.
Previously, Jin and J-Hope were discharged in June and October of last year, respectively. Jimin and Jungkook are scheduled to be discharged on June 11. Suga, who is serving as a social service agent, is expected to complete his service on June 21.
The last album released as BTS was the anthology album "Proof" in June 2022, and their last full-group performance was "Yet to Come in Busan" in October 2022.
