Busan Office of Education Holds Opening Ceremony for Collective Bargaining with Public Officials Union

The Busan Office of Education held an opening ceremony for collective bargaining with the Busan Office of Education Public Officials Union at its main building on the afternoon of June 9.

The ceremony was attended by Superintendent Kim Seokjun and 10 senior officials from the Office of Education, as well as Chairman Song Eonyong of the Public Officials Union and 10 union executives.


This round of bargaining is being held to conclude a new collective agreement for the first time since 2021. The union has submitted 163 demands aimed at improving the working conditions of local public officials. Formal working-level negotiations are scheduled to take place every Tuesday starting from June 24.


Superintendent Kim Seokjun stated, "Our Office of Education and the Public Officials Union have consistently communicated to advance the rights and improve the working conditions of local public officials," and added, "We will continue to strive for a labor-management culture of mutual growth and cooperation."
