Up to Four-Year Residency Allowed...
Applications Accepted In-Person at City Hall Until the 30th
On June 10, Gongju City in South Chungcheong Province announced that it is recruiting tenants for its "Youth Shared Housing," which offers affordable housing to help young entrepreneurs reduce their housing costs and create stable conditions for starting businesses.
The Youth Shared Housing is located at 23 Bongsan-gil, Gongju City (the former Gungwoljang area), and consists of a total of eight units?four for men and four for women. The initial lease period is two years, and residents can extend their stay once for a maximum total of four years.
The annual usage fee is 520,550 won for a 14.37-square-meter unit and 616,550 won for a 17.02-square-meter unit, allowing residents to live at an affordable monthly average of about 50,000 won. If tenants choose to pay in installments, an interest rate of 0.5% is applied, making the payments 523,150 won and 619,630 won, respectively. The security deposit is 1,000,000 won, and residents share management fees and utility costs.
Eligibility is limited to single-person, non-homeowners aged 18 to 45 who are either currently residing in Gongju City or planning to move there, and who have completed business registration as young entrepreneurs.
Those wishing to apply can visit the Youth Policy Team at the Population Policy Division of City Hall in person and submit their application between June 9 and June 30.
Jang Soonmi, head of the Population Policy Division, stated, "This Youth Shared Housing project is intended to provide practical support so that young entrepreneurs can focus on their businesses without worrying about housing," and added, "We expect positive effects on the influx of young people into Gongju City and the revitalization of the local economy."
Meanwhile, the usage fees for the shared housing will be adjusted annually based on the officially assessed property value and individual land prices.
