Apple Showcases Korean Games in Its Lineup
Krafton to Release inZOI macOS Version in August
At Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), two Korean games, "Red Desert" and "inZOI," were showcased.
On June 9 (local time), at the WWDC held at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California, Apple announced its newly updated operating systems (OS) for this fall and introduced Red Desert and inZOI as examples in its game lineup.

Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, introduced the updated "Game Overlay" feature for the next macOS version, "Tahoe," as well as the "Metal 4" 3D rendering technology for developers, during the keynote presentation delivered via video.
Federighi stated, "Many games have recently joined the Apple ecosystem, and there will be even more in the future," citing Red Desert and inZOI as representative examples. The keynote also featured footage of these games running on macOS.
Regarding Red Desert, which Pearl Abyss plans to launch in the fourth quarter, Apple highlighted that the game "delivers stunning visuals and dynamic effects by leveraging Apple Silicon, and offers an open world with breathtaking detail." Apple Silicon is Apple's proprietary chipset, which is integrated across its product lineup, including MacBooks and iPhones.
For Krafton's life simulation game "inZOI," which was released in early access in March, Apple emphasized that it "brings new life to player-driven storytelling with deep customization and beautiful visuals," adding, "Apple Silicon and MetalFX realistically render every character and lighting effect, and the Neural Engine delivers outstanding performance for AI models."
On the first day of WWDC, following the announcement, Krafton began pre-registration for the macOS version of inZOI. The Mac version of inZOI is now available for pre-registration on Apple's Mac App Store and is scheduled for release in August via both the Mac App Store and the global game distribution platform Steam.
Krafton explained that the Mac version of inZOI is optimized for the Apple Silicon environment, ensuring an excellent gaming experience on devices running macOS. Apple's PC lineup with macOS has traditionally supported fewer games compared to Windows-based PCs, primarily because there were fewer games developed specifically for the Apple Silicon environment.
The Mac version of inZOI incorporates the latest graphics technologies, including: ▲"MetalFX Upscaling" to enhance game resolution ▲hardware-accelerated ray tracing on Apple M3 and M4 chips ▲"High Dynamic Range (HDR)" for maximizing the contrast between bright and dark areas in graphics. Additionally, inZOI's AI features are optimized for the high-speed processing performance of Apple Silicon, allowing users to enjoy the game at the same level as on other platforms.
Meanwhile, at this year's WWDC, Neowiz's "Lies of P" and "Architect: Land of Exile," an upcoming MMORPG developed by Aquatree and published by HYBE IM, were also introduced as examples of macOS games.
