According to the Hwasun County Council on June 10, this regular session will deliberate and vote on a total of 25 items, including the approval of the 2024 fiscal year settlement and reserve fund expenditure, five ordinances proposed by council members, and 20 agenda items submitted by the Hwasun County Governor.
At the first plenary session on this day, the council handled six agenda items, including the decision on the session schedule for the 274th 1st regular session, and listened to a proposal explanation regarding the 2024 fiscal year settlement and reserve fund expenditure approval.
In his opening remarks, Chairperson Oh Hyungyeol stated, "It is time for us to unite to overcome social conflict and division and to ensure a stable future for our region and country. I ask for your cooperation so that we can contribute to regional development in line with the launch of the new government," and added, "I urge thorough review and responsible legislative activities regarding the settlement, reserve fund expenditure approval, and ordinance proposals. I also request special attention and effort for disaster prevention and hygiene management during the summer, in preparation for heat waves and heavy rains."
During the plenary session, two council members delivered five-minute free speeches. First, Council Member Kang Jaehong proposed three policies to revitalize the local economy and support small business owners. He suggested tailored support measures such as emergency financial aid, tax reductions and financial support, and free public transportation for seniors, calling for proactive roles from both the county and the council to make Hwasun a happier place for residents.
Council Member Ryu Jongok pointed out the lack of child-exclusive play spaces in Hwasun County and proposed the creation of a creative and complex ecological art playground. In particular, he suggested developing the Dongguri Lake Park area into a space where children's imagination and dreams can come true, and requested active interest and support from the county and the council to realize a "truly child-friendly city, Hwasun."
Meanwhile, the schedule includes committee activities and on-site visits, as well as reviews of ordinances and general agenda items from June 10 to 11, and a preliminary review of the 2024 fiscal year settlement and reserve fund expenditure approval. On June 17, the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts will conduct a comprehensive review of the 2024 fiscal year settlement and reserve fund expenditure approval.
On the final day of the session, June 18, the council will hold the second plenary session to conduct the final deliberation and voting on agenda items reviewed by each standing committee and the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts.
