Now Record and Shoot with AirPods... Enhanced Content Creation Features

High-Performance Recording Features for Creators
Improved Call Quality for Everyday Users
Remote Shooting Now Possible with 'Galaxy Camera'

AirPods are evolving into content creation tools by incorporating "studio-grade microphone" and "camera remote control" features. The recording capabilities of AirPods have been enhanced to a level suitable for broadcast use, and users can now remotely control camera shooting via AirPods.

On June 9 (local time), Apple announced at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) held at its headquarters in Cupertino, California, that "AirPods 4" and "AirPods Pro 2" will be equipped with studio-grade audio recording and camera remote control functions. These features provide new methods for content creation and improve ways for users to interact.

With the updated audio recording feature, users can record with studio-quality sound even while on the move or in noisy environments. In particular, creators such as interviewers, podcasters, and singers can record content with even higher audio quality. This voice isolation feature also makes call quality clearer. The feature is available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Going forward, AirPods will also serve as a camera remote control. With a single press, users can start or stop video recording from a distance. Apple stated that this function will be useful for users who frequently record themselves singing or dancing using Apple devices. It can be used not only with the built-in camera application on iPhone and iPad, but also while using third-party camera apps.

These new AirPods features are available starting today through the "Apple Developer Program." A beta version will be released next month through the "Apple Beta Software Program." For all users, the features are expected to be available in October with the iOS 26 update. However, Apple noted that the features may change and some may not be available depending on language or region.
