Dongmyung University won a total of five medals at the 1st IBK Industrial Bank President's National Shooting Competition, which was held at Cheongju General Shooting Range from May 28 to June 4.

In particular, freshman Lee Seungjae overturned everyone's expectations by repeatedly overtaking his accomplished senior competitors one by one, ultimately winning the individual gold medal.
Dongmyung University once again proved itself as the strongest team in collegiate shooting by finishing second in the rapid-fire pistol team event (Jung Yoonjong, Kim Hyunsoo, Sung Seyoung, Lee Seungjae), second in the individual event (Jung Yoonjong), third in the 50M pistol team event (Kim Hyunsoo, Hyun Jaeyoon, Kim Myungchan, Choi Changmin), and third in the center fire pistol team event (Kim Wonjun, Son Sangwoo, Sung Seyoung, Lee Seungjae).
The undisputed star of this competition was freshman Lee Seungjae of Dongmyung University, who became the subject of amazement for all athletes and coaches at the shooting range.
Although the initial reaction was, "Lee Seungjae? Who is Seungjae?", on the second day, during the men's collegiate air pistol event, Lee Seungjae advanced to the finals for the first time in his career after the competition began, drawing everyone's attention.
While maintaining third place, Lee Seungjae was only 0.1 points ahead of the fourth-place competitor, standing at a crossroads between winning his first medal or finishing an unfortunate fourth, all depending on a single shot. Kim Dongbin (Kyungnam University), who finished shooting first, scored a high 10.5 points, prompting cheers from the stands. At that moment, when it seemed difficult, Lee Seungjae also shot a bold 10.5 points without wavering, dramatically entering the medal zone.
Having secured the bronze medal, he went on to overturn a considerable points gap, overtaking his accomplished seniors one by one, and ultimately defied all expectations by claiming the individual gold medal.
After winning his first gold medal, Lee Seungjae said, "Since coming to Dongmyung University, I have completely revamped my training methods and fundamentals, which has greatly improved my skills and boosted my confidence. I believe I can perform even better in the remaining competitions."
