International Fireworks Show and Drone Light Show to Light Up the Sky on the 21st
Mayor Lee: "Meticulous Preparation and Thorough On-site Management Will Ensure a Well-Organized Festival"
On June 9, Pohang City held the "2025 Pohang International Fireworks Festival Final Inspection Report Meeting" in the main conference room of City Hall, presided over by Mayor Lee Kangdeok.

The meeting was attended by more than 20 related organizations, including the Pohang Cultural Foundation, which is in charge of organizing the festival, as well as Pohang Nambu Police Station, Pohang Coast Guard, Pohang Nambu Fire Station, Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, Korea Gas Safety Corporation, and KT, who conducted a final review of the festival preparations.
The meeting focused on discussing safety measures for the event site, plans for traffic and parking operations, communication and hygiene management, and improvements to any shortcomings.
In particular, since the festival schedule was postponed due to the presidential election, the city plans to enhance the festival's quality with even more thorough preparations.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "We will prioritize citizen safety and create a well-organized festival through meticulous preparation and thorough on-site management," adding, "All departments and related organizations will fulfill their respective roles responsibly until the end to ensure a successful festival without a single accident."
This year, the "2025 Pohang International Fireworks Festival" will be held under the slogan "Shining Everyday in a Clear Era," featuring a variety of programs including an international fireworks show, a drone light show, a citizens' parade, a fireworks concert, and a light art way.
Before the main festival begins, the Pohang Canal Light Way (from Pohang Canal Center to Flower Tree Plaza), which blends light installations and media art, will open on June 14. The climax of the festival, the international fireworks show, will take place on June 21 at the Hyeongsan River Sports Park.
For the international fireworks show, Italy will present a display themed "Alchemy of Love," Canada will showcase "The Unchanging Light of the Public," and Korea will conclude the event with a performance titled "From the Heart of Fire, Blossoming Light."
Following this, the "Drone Light Show," featuring 1,000 drones, will illuminate the night sky with the message "Thank You for Your Day," adding a moving touch to the festivities.
Additionally, on the main stage, a special segment called "Fireworks Radio," hosted by Pohang City's honorary ambassador Lee Jihoon, will introduce citizens' stories.
On the eve of the main festival, June 20, the Fireworks Concert featuring singers Enok and Azuma Aki, along with the "Daily Fireworks Show," will light up the night sea of the Hyeongsan River.
On June 20 and 21, the Hyeongsan River Sports Park will host a food truck zone called "Pwangstaurant," photo zones, and an experience market. On Haedo Saeroksaero Street, the "Bulmat Gourmet Road," themed around spicy and flame-grilled dishes, will offer a variety of food events to satisfy all five senses.
Even after this final inspection meeting, Pohang City plans to continue on-site safety checks and facility inspections, putting forth every effort to prepare for the festival's opening.
