Minho Choi, Mayor of Sejong City, emphasized national balanced development and urged President Jaemyung Lee, who pledged the completion of the administrative capital as a campaign promise, to present a clear roadmap for the establishment of the Presidential Office in Sejong.

The government is currently renovating the Blue House. The plan is for President Lee to use it as his office once the renovations are complete. Local political circles are questioning whether the construction of the Sejong Presidential Office, as promised by President Lee, can proceed under these circumstances. This is interpreted as a negative signal, especially since, despite emphasizing balanced development, the government has ordered the relocation of government agencies to Busan.

Mayor Choi stated, "I fully understand that the President is still in the early days of his term and that there are many important factors to consider regarding the construction of the Presidential Office. However, at the very least, there should be a roadmap indicating whether the establishment of the Sejong Presidential Office is possible and, if so, when it will be realized." He requested a clear commitment and roadmap for the construction of the second Presidential Office, citing the strong desire not only of Sejong citizens but also of residents throughout the Chungcheong region.

He further emphasized, "It has already been 20 years since construction began to make Sejong an administrative capital, yet Sejong still remains an incomplete administrative capital. During the last presidential election, it was confirmed that there was already bipartisan consensus on the completion of the administrative capital, and the entire nation witnessed this. From the perspective of balanced national development, this is an urgent mission of our era and a political responsibility that can no longer be postponed."
