Five Types of Crime Prevention Items Provided Free of Charge
On June 9, the city of Ansan in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will be accepting applications for the "2025 Ansan City Women's Safety Package Support Project" until June 27.
This project aims to prevent crimes targeting women, which have been on the rise recently, and to help ensure the safety of daily life by providing free safety packages to single-women households and others.
Eligible applicants are residents who, as of May 21, have their resident registration in Ansan and live in a property with a jeonse-converted value or official appraisal price of 300 million won or less. The program will support a total of 73 households, including ▲single-women households ▲single-parent families ▲households of women who have been victims of crime ▲other women-led households. However, previous recipients are excluded from eligibility.
Those selected will receive four basic items: ▲a smart doorbell ▲a self-defense spray ▲a front door security latch ▲a window lock. In addition, they can choose one of the following: a grip tok emergency bell or a smart door opening sensor.
Citizens who wish to apply can do so online via the "Gyeonggi Minwon 24" website or by visiting the Women and Childcare Division at City Hall in person. For more information, inquiries can be made to the Women's Safety Team at the Women and Childcare Division.
Lee Minguen, Mayor of Ansan, stated, "We will continue to expand practical support and crime prevention policies to create a city where all citizens can live with peace of mind."
