Partnership with Luxury E-Commerce Platform FARFETCH

Coupang announced on June 9 that its luxury beauty and fashion vertical service application, R.LUX, has entered into a partnership with FARFETCH to offer a global selection of luxury goods to domestic customers. FARFETCH is a global luxury e-commerce platform that connects brands and boutiques from over 50 countries worldwide.
Through this collaboration, R.LUX and FARFETCH plan to introduce new services to customers that have not been experienced in the domestic luxury e-commerce market. With this partnership, R.LUX customers in Korea will be able to receive a curated selection of luxury and premium brand products from global brands, boutiques, and department stores via Rocket Direct Purchase with free shipping. WOW members will also receive differentiated benefits, including free returns.
R.LUX will showcase FARFETCH's luxury fashion products, including apparel, shoes, and bags. More than 1,400 luxury brands, including top global names such as Dolce & Gabbana and Ferragamo, as well as brands selected from major fashion capitals like Paris, London, and Milan, will be available on R.LUX. The selection will also include seasonal items featured at the world's four major fashion weeks (Paris, Milan, London, and New York).
Through this collaboration, R.LUX plans to offer a wide-ranging selection, from globally renowned luxury brands to domestic designer brands. Leading Korean designer brands include ADER ERROR, LOW CLASSIC, WE11DONE, and WOOYOUNGMI.
Customers can browse the FARFETCH selection under the 'Fashion' tab in the R.LUX app and conveniently place orders using the Rocket Direct Purchase method. Products are shipped directly from brands or boutiques that transact with FARFETCH worldwide, with R.LUX handling final domestic delivery. Depending on the shipping origin, delivery takes approximately 4 to 7 days. All products are shipped free of charge, and WOW members receive the added benefit of free returns within 30 days.
Typically, luxury direct purchases require customers to separately declare and pay customs duties and VAT, which can be inconvenient. However, R.LUX has eliminated these hassles. Customers pay a price that includes all taxes, and in the event of a return, they are refunded the full amount, including customs duties and VAT. In addition, R.LUX will provide one-stop customer support through real-time one-on-one chat and phone consultations available in the app’s 'Customer Center.' This addresses the customer service issues often pointed out with overseas direct purchase services. Furthermore, Coupang plans to further strengthen monitoring against counterfeit and illegal products to ensure the best customer experience in luxury goods purchases.
FARFETCH aims to accelerate its entry into the Korean market through R.LUX. Steven Eggleston, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of FARFETCH, stated, "Korea is one of the most dynamically growing luxury markets in the world," and added, "This partnership will provide new opportunities for more customers and brand partners."
A R.LUX representative said, "Through our collaboration with FARFETCH, which has the largest number of brands among global luxury commerce platforms, we are able to offer customers an even wider range of choices," adding, "We plan to continue expanding our selection across various categories."
R.LUX is Coupang’s luxury beauty and fashion vertical service app, launched in October last year. To date, 39 global beauty brands, including Est?e Lauder, Lanc?me, Jo Malone London, Kiehl’s, and Dolce & Gabbana, have joined the platform.
