World No. 1 in women's badminton, An Seyoung, reclaimed the Indonesia Open throne after four years. This marks her fifth international tournament victory this year.
On June 8, in Jakarta, Indonesia, An Seyoung won the women's singles final at the BWF World Tour Super 1000 Indonesia Open by coming from behind to defeat Wang Zhiyi of China, who is ranked second in the world, with a set score of 2-1 (13-21, 21-19, 21-15).

An Seyoung claimed her second Indonesia Open title, four years after her first victory in 2021. In last year's tournament, she finished as the runner-up after losing to Chen Yufei of China.
An Seyoung achieved a miraculous comeback in the final. After losing the first game 13-21, she also fell behind 1-7 early in the second game. The gap widened to 9-17, but she then scored 10 points while conceding only one, turning the score around to 19-18. An Seyoung secured the second game 21-19 and then closed out the third game 21-15, wrapping up the intense match in 1 hour and 21 minutes.
An Seyoung extended her head-to-head advantage over Wang Zhiyi to 12 wins and 4 losses. In the All England Open final in March, An Seyoung defeated Wang Zhiyi 2-1 (13-21, 21-18, 21-18) despite carrying an injury, and in the Sudirman Cup (World Mixed Team Championships) women's singles final in April, she also won 2-0 (21-17, 21-16).
Under the leadership of head coach Park Joobong, the Korean national team also claimed gold in men's doubles, in addition to An Seyoung's women's singles victory. The world No. 6 pair Kim Seungjae and Kim Wonho won a hard-fought men's doubles final against Indonesia's Sabar Guttama and Mo Isfahani, who are ranked eighth in the world, coming from behind to win 2-1 (18-21, 21-19, 21-12) and standing atop the podium.
