Gyeonggi Province to Offer 30% Discount Coupons on Agricultural and Fishery Products from June 13 to 16

Gyeonggi Province will implement a discount coupon support program from June 13 to June 16, offering a 30% discount on purchases of agricultural and fishery products produced in Gyeonggi Province. In particular, the online mall 'Market Gyeonggi' will apply the discount one day earlier, starting from June 12, to account for delivery schedules.

This measure aims to ease the burden of grocery prices for residents who are struggling due to frequent natural disasters caused by climate change and the resulting rise in agricultural and fishery product prices.

Previously, Gyeonggi Province had been implementing this program as part of a supplementary budget to urgently respond to unstable supply of agricultural and fishery products, as well as rising food and dining prices. Starting this year, the program has been reorganized as the 'Gyeonggi Province Agricultural and Fishery Products Discount Coupon Support Program,' with a budget of 25 billion won allocated in the main budget.

During the event period, customers can receive a 30% discount on purchases of Gyeonggi-produced agricultural, livestock, and fishery products, including Gyeonggi rice, up to a maximum of 30,000 won per person per day.

Notably, the online mall 'Market Gyeonggi' will exceptionally offer a 30% discount on all items. Consumers can download discount coupons valid for all products on Market Gyeonggi and apply them at checkout. These coupons are issued once per day, on a first-come, first-served basis, with a daily limit of 3,000 coupons.

At offline stores, the 30% discount is available only for Gyeonggi rice, agricultural products produced in Gyeonggi Province, and eggs. To set the discount limit at offline stores, customers must register as members to receive the discount benefits.

Participating businesses can be found in the notices section of the Gyeonggi Agro-Fisheries Promotion Agency website (www.gafi.or.kr).

Park Jongmin, Director of the Department of Agricultural, Fisheries and Life Sciences of Gyeonggi Province, said, "Through this discount event, we aim to reduce the grocery price burden for residents, provide an opportunity to purchase high-quality agricultural, livestock, and fishery products from Gyeonggi Province at affordable prices, and contribute to increasing the income of farmers and fishers. We hope that many residents will take interest in and make use of Gyeonggi Province's safe and excellent agricultural products."
