The dinner, which took place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on June 7, was attended by 24 lawmakers, including Park Chandae, acting party leader and floor leader; Jeong Cheongrae, former Supreme Council member; Kim Byungki and Seo Youngkyo, who are running in the floor leader election; and Kim Minseok, chief Supreme Council member who has been nominated as the first Prime Minister. From the Office of the President, Chief of Staff Kang Hunsik and Spokesperson Kang Yujeong were also present. The dinner menu reportedly featured traditional Korean cuisine (Hanjeongsik).
President Lee emphasized the heavy responsibility toward the people, stating, "Since we overcame difficult times together and earned the people's trust, our first mission now is to live up to their expectations."
In particular, President Lee said, "There is much to be done for the recovery of the people's livelihood and economy, for social integration, and for the stability of state affairs." He added, "True success is not measured by political achievements, but by the improvement of each and every citizen's life." He also expressed his commitment to governing the country with humility. In response, the attendees expressed their intention to contribute to the success of the Lee Jaemyung administration.
Through a Facebook post, President Lee shared his reflections on the dinner. He wrote, "This gathering reaffirmed that the only force that has brought us this far, despite countless crises and challenges, has been our sense of responsibility and mission for the people."
He went on to stress that there are significant tasks ahead, such as improving people's livelihoods, achieving economic recovery, promoting social integration, and ensuring the stability of state affairs. Above all, he emphasized that the most important thing is to ensure that people's lives actually improve. President Lee stated, "I will do my utmost to ensure that everyone can feel positive change in their daily lives, look forward to a better tomorrow, and embrace hope."
President Lee added, "As always, I promise that we will move forward vigorously toward a new nation and a true Republic of Korea with a one-team spirit, and I would like to once again express my deep gratitude to all my steadfast colleagues who have joined me on this journey."
