On June 6 (local time), Ukrainian IT news outlet Mega reported that a user who identified himself as a Ukrainian soldier wrote on the customer review section of the Samsung Electronics Ukraine website around mid-last month, sharing a story about how the Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone acted as armor for him.
The soldier stated, "During a bombardment, a large piece of shrapnel hit my phone directly. The shrapnel pierced the display, but was stopped by the titanium case," and added, "The phone literally became armor that protected me from injury. The only regret is that I was able to use it for just three weeks."
Fortunately, the issue with the damaged smartphone is expected to be resolved easily. A local Samsung Electronics customer support representative responded to the post by saying, "Thank you for your dedication and that of your comrades," and added, "We will provide feedback regarding your damaged smartphone via the email you provided." In response to an inquiry from the local media, Samsung Electronics Ukraine stated, "As a token of appreciation for your dedication to the country and the trust you have shown in Samsung Electronics, we have decided to repair the device free of charge."

This is not the first time a Samsung smartphone has saved a soldier's life. In April 2022, a story was shared about a Ukrainian soldier who survived by blocking a bullet thanks to a Samsung Electronics smartphone. In the accompanying video, a soldier is seen taking cover while explosions and gunfire can be heard all around. He takes a smartphone out of his pocket and shows it to his comrade. The smartphone had a bullet lodged in it after piercing the case.
A similar case occurred in March 2023. On social media platforms such as TikTok, a video was posted by someone believed to be a Ukrainian soldier, stating, "I survived thanks to a Samsung smartphone." In the video, the soldier shows the phone that stopped the bullet; the front glass is severely damaged, and the back is also visibly destroyed.
