The attendees honored the national heroes and patriotic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country with a moment of silence, floral tributes, and incense offerings.

Choi Kyunghwa, a family member of a fallen soldier, recited a commemorative poem, and the city choir sang the Memorial Day song accompanied by the youth symphony orchestra.

In his memorial address, Mayor Hong stated, "If defending the nation was the mission of our heroes, caring for the families they left behind is both the responsibility of the state and the duty of its people," adding, "We will strive to build a society where national merit recipients and their families are treated with greater respect and honor."

He continued, "We will actively support the activities of veterans' organizations in Gimhae and diligently manage the 13 Memorial Day facilities in the city to ensure that we do not neglect honoring the spirits of our patriotic heroes."
