"Walk Along Jisan Saetgang"... Gumi City Successfully Holds Walking Event with Citizens

Over 500 Citizens Join "Participatory Health Festival"
Promoting Healthy Habits with the Slogan "Walking is Everyday Life"

Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province has taken another step toward realizing its vision of a "Healthy City Gumi" by hosting a walking event with local residents.

On June 6, the city announced that it had successfully held the "Walk Along Jisan Saetgang" event on June 5 at Jisan Saetgang Ecological Park, with the participation of around 500 citizens.

Held under the slogan "Walking is Everyday Life, Moving Gumi," the event was organized to encourage citizens to practice walking regularly and to support the development of healthy lifestyle habits.

Participants walked the 3.4-kilometer Jisan Saetgang trail, taking part in activities such as the "Stamp Mission," where they collected stamps at various checkpoints, and the "You Quiz on the Health" quiz program, which tested their health knowledge, adding to the enjoyment of the walk.

One citizen commented, "It was a beneficial time for the whole family, as we could exercise by walking and also learn useful health information. I hope citizen participation health events like this will be held more often in the future."

Lim Myungseop, head of the Gumi City Public Health Center, stated, "We will continue to expand walking-centered health programs that anyone can easily join. We are committed to doing our best to realize a healthy city that everyone creates together."

Gumi City plans to continue fostering a culture of healthy living in the community through citizen participation programs and to further promote a health culture based on walking.
