Gokseong County: "2035 Landscape Plan to Reflect Residents' Voices"

Public Hearing for Residents on June 11
Opinions Accepted by Mail and Email

Gokseong County: "2035 Landscape Plan to Reflect Residents' Voices" Exterior view of Gokseong County Office.

On June 5, Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae) announced that it will hold a "Gokseong County Landscape Plan Public Hearing" at 4:00 p.m. on June 11 in the conference room on the second floor of the Gokseong-eup Administrative Welfare Center.

The landscape plan is a mid- to long-term plan for the preservation, management, and formation of the local landscape, and by law, it must be revised every five years. Starting with an inception report meeting in February last year, the county conducted a landscape status survey, analyzed local resources, and surveyed residents' landscape awareness, leading to the establishment of a draft "2035 Master Plan."

The plan sets forth the region's future vision as "Gokseong, Full of Charm in Every Corner," and was developed by comprehensively reflecting the changing policy environment, landscape conditions, and the landscape image the county aims to pursue.

This public hearing has been organized to share the planning process with residents and to actively incorporate a wide range of opinions into the plan. Since the effectiveness of the landscape plan can be maximized when it reflects the experiences and perspectives of residents who actually live in the area, the hearing will be conducted in a way that allows anyone to freely express their views.

In particular, for residents who are unable to attend in person, opinions can also be submitted by mail or email until June 18. The collected feedback will be reflected in the final plan. For more details, please refer to the website or contact the Landscape Design Team of the Urban Economy Division.

An official from the county stated, "The future landscape of our region begins with the participation of each and every resident," and added, "We hope many people will take part in this public hearing and share their valuable opinions."
