Cheonan Museum Reopens After 5.2 Billion KRW Renovation...Permanent Exhibition Halls Completely Revamped

The Cheonan Museum in Chungnam reopened on June 5, 2025, after completing a renovation that lasted one year and seven months.

This remodeling project invested a total of 5.2 billion KRW, including 1.4 billion KRW from the provincial government and 3.8 billion KRW from the city government, to establish a Children's Museum and an Archive Room.

At the Children's Museum, children can easily and enjoyably experience the history of Cheonan, while the Archive Room allows visitors to freely access a variety of materials.

The permanent exhibition halls have also been completely revamped. Hall 1 is the Prehistoric and Ancient Hall, Hall 2 is the Goryeo Hall, and Hall 3 is the Joseon Hall, with artifacts categorized by historical period.

Kim Seokpil, acting mayor, said, "I am pleased and honored to be able to return the newly renovated Cheonan Museum to the citizens," and added, "I deeply thank everyone who contributed to the transformation of the museum."

Meanwhile, admission to the Cheonan Museum is free. It is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (from November to January, until 5 p.m. during the winter season), except on Mondays, January 1, and public holidays.
