The Chungnam Provincial Forest Resources Research Institute announced on June 5 that it held the 'Carbon Neutrality Practice Garden Planting Workshop' in collaboration with the Graduate School of Remote Education at Joongbu University from May 31 to June 1 at the Taean Office Anmyeondo Regional Garden.
More than 50 participants attended the workshop, including professors from the Graduate School of Remote Education at Joongbu University, master's and doctoral students, undergraduate students, and staff members responsible for the Anmyeondo Regional Garden.
The participants were divided into three teams and practiced the entire process of garden creation, including garden planting design, selection of plant materials, planting, and arrangement of facilities.
In particular, garden designers participated as advisors, providing guidance on each team's design direction and on-site planting process.
Kim Giho, Director of the Forest Resources Research Institute, stated, "This workshop became a venue for education that goes beyond garden creation to address the contemporary challenges of carbon neutrality and climate change response." He added, "We will continue to take the lead in increasing carbon sinks and expanding various green spaces through garden creation and planting design."
