Delta Air Lines Appoints Atar Khan as Asia Pacific Sales Director

Strengthening JV Collaboration with Korean Air

Delta Air Lines announced on June 5 that it has appointed Atar Khan as the Asia Pacific Global Sales Director.

As the lead sales executive for Delta Air Lines across the Asia Pacific region, including Korea, Director Khan will spearhead the joint venture (JV) collaboration with Korean Air and further strengthen support for both companies' corporate and business travel customers.

Based in Seoul, he will lead a team of Delta Air Lines sales professionals operating in major Asia Pacific markets such as Japan, China, and Taiwan, and will oversee a variety of general sales agent contracts throughout Southeast Asia. He will also be responsible for negotiating multinational contracts with local corporate clients and travel agencies specializing in business travel.

With over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry, Director Khan is a veteran in global sales development. He joined Delta Air Lines in 2011 as the New York Sales General Manager, contributing to the company's 'Win in New York' strategy. He later served as Director of Financial Services Sales and Director of Multinational Customer Sales for Asia Pacific, leading various teams in these roles.

Since October 2020, he has served as Director of International Specialty Sales, managing relationships with clients specializing in air cargo brokerage businesses across the Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India regions within the United States. He has also led joint sales initiatives with partner airlines including Aeromexico, Air France/KLM, Virgin Atlantic, Korean Air, LATAM Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines.
