The Mid-sized Company CFO Forum is a program co-hosted by Samjong KPMG and the Korea Federation of Middle Market Enterprises. This year marked its second edition, following last year's event. The forum is designed for CFOs of mid-sized companies to discuss strategies for improving financial and tax systems and policies, as well as to share insights necessary for corporate growth. This year's forum focused on identifying practical response measures by selecting topics closely related to real-world operations, centering on key issues faced by mid-sized companies amid rapidly changing economic and industrial environments.
From the 7th of last month, participants gathered for five weeks at the Samjong KPMG headquarters in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to discuss the latest trends and major challenges and strategies for mid-sized companies in various fields, including economic and industrial trends, artificial intelligence (AI), mergers and acquisitions (M&A), ESG (environmental, social, and governance), internal accounting management systems, and taxation.
In the first week, the forum covered economic and industrial trends and explored corporate strategies utilizing AI, sharing insights from a CFO perspective through KPMG's case studies on building AI agents in financial accounting and internal control. The second week addressed key tax audit issues for mid-sized companies and customs strategies in preparation for the Trump 2.0 era. In the third week, the forum discussed M&A trends related to mid-sized companies and highlighted key points CFOs must verify when pursuing M&A.
The fourth week focused on global ESG trends and management innovation, examining strategies for ESG information disclosure, wage system reform plans for mid-sized companies, and real estate market trends. In the fifth week, the forum presented recent amendments to the internal accounting management system and practical internal control measures to prevent embezzlement and fraud. Additionally, participants reviewed the latest tax law revisions and major tax issues.
Yoon Haksub, Head of Tax Advisory at Samjong KPMG, stated, "I hope this forum has provided CFOs of mid-sized companies with an opportunity to develop strategies based on economic and policy changes," adding, "Samjong KPMG will continue to serve as a key partner for mid-sized companies by offering practical solutions."
Meanwhile, Samjong KPMG operates the Mid-sized Company Growth Support Center to assist with the sustainable growth and stable management succession of mid-sized companies, providing one-stop integrated services from experts in various fields such as accounting, taxation, M&A, investment attraction, and business restructuring.
