This year’s contest, held under the theme “Designing Seocho with Light,” attracted significant attention, with 122 entries submitted from across the country by last month. The district selected a total of 22 winning works through evaluations conducted by a panel of professional judges.

The grand prize-winning work, “SHINING SEOCHO,” reinterpreted Seocho’s culture and arts into a bright and vibrant city image. It received high praise for presenting an emotional nighttime landscape through the harmonious use of yellow, navy, and sky blue colors, as well as warm white LED lighting designed with curves and circles.

Two works were selected for the top excellence award: “Seoripul’s Light, Coloring the City” by Yoo Soyeon and “Eco-Seocho” by Park Juhyun. In addition, four works received the excellence award, five received the encouragement award, and ten were selected as honorable mentions, bringing the total number of awarded teams to 22. The winners were awarded a total of 16.5 million won in prize money and certificates. The selected works will be applied to actual construction site temporary fence designs starting this month, following the signing of usage agreements with the winners.

Seocho District Mayor Jeon Seongsoo stated, “I hope the ‘construction site temporary fence gallery’ in the city center will offer residents a rich visual experience and enjoyment. Moving forward, we will continue to improve the urban landscape so that residents can naturally enjoy art in their daily lives, making Seocho an attractive city of culture and the arts.”
