A new tourism content hub is opening in Ulsan.
On June 4, the Ulsan FE01 Cultural Complex Space held an opening ceremony for the Usim Promotion Center, an integrated platform for local tourism products.
Usim stands for "Ulsan-Special-Identity-Merchandise," and is a tourism brand that encapsulates Ulsan's unique stories of culture, history, and industry. The goal is to go beyond simple souvenirs and expand points of contact with domestic and international tourists by offering specialized tourism products that reflect the region's identity and stories.
FE01 established the Usim Promotion Center to address the previous lack of continuous tourism product promotion and sales spaces in Ulsan, and to help local tourism businesses expand their sales channels. The newly opened center operates as a pop-up store, with 12 companies?including Ulsan startups, Tourism Dure, and social enterprises?participating to exhibit and sell their products. Another notable feature is that the center is designed as an "open platform," allowing any interested company to participate.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from Ulsan City, Ulju County, the Ulsan Tourism Business Support Center, and participating companies. The event included an opening, welcome remarks, congratulatory speeches, an exhibition tour, and networking.
The FE01 Cultural Complex Space, where the Usim Promotion Center is located, is the world's largest junk art exhibition hall and was selected in 2023 as Ulsan's first "Korea Unique Venue" by the Korea Tourism Organization. This space, which interprets the identity of the industrial city of Ulsan through environmental art, attracted over 80,000 foreign tourists last year alone and has established itself as a representative landmark of Ulsan.
An FE01 official stated, "Usim is more than just a brand; it is a platform that captures Ulsan's unique charm," adding, "It will provide opportunities for local companies to grow and for tourists to gain a deeper understanding of Ulsan."
