The National Police Agency announced on June 4 that a total of 886 reports related to the 21st presidential election voting were received through the 112 emergency hotline.
As of 5:00 a.m. on this day, the reports by type included 223 cases of voting interference or disturbances, 5 cases of assault, 13 cases of traffic inconvenience, and 635 cases classified as other (such as misunderstandings).
Reports continued to be filed at polling stations nationwide due to incidents such as assaults and disturbances. In Busan, at the outdoor area of the Jung-dong No. 1 polling station in Haeundae District, a man in his 40s who was waiting to vote while smoking an e-cigarette assaulted a man in his 30s who tried to stop him from smoking behind him.
In Jeju, at the Seogwang-dong Community Center polling station in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo City, a man in his 60s was arrested in the act after assaulting and causing a disturbance, including pushing the chest of a polling station worker in his 30s.
At a polling station in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, a man in his 50s caused a disturbance by swearing and pushing a desk while demanding another ballot from an election worker after completing his vote.
