Icheon City Offers Startup and Housing Purchase Support for Returning Farmers... Applications Open Until June 19

Up to 300 Million KRW in Startup Loans and 75 Million KRW for Housing Purchases Available

Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for its 'Support Project for Returning Farmers' Agricultural Startups and Housing Purchases' until June 19 to help returning farmers settle stably.

Eligible applicants are returning farmers who have lived in an urban area for at least one year immediately prior to relocating to a rural area. Applicants must be under the age of 65 and have moved to a rural area in Icheon City within the past five years. In addition, non-farming residents without farming experience in the past five years, as well as those planning to move to a rural area in Icheon City within the current year, are also eligible to apply.

The maximum support for agricultural startup funds is 300 million KRW, which can be used for purposes such as purchasing farmland or agricultural machinery to establish a farming base. For housing purchases, up to 75 million KRW per household is provided.

The loan terms are a five-year grace period followed by a ten-year equal principal repayment. Applicants can choose between a fixed or variable annual interest rate of 2%. The loan must be executed by December 31 of the year in which the loan recommendation is made.
