Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation Holds 5th Mirae Asset MEET-UP Project

The Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation announced on June 4 that it held the 5th Mirae Asset MEET-UP Project.

The "MEET-UP Project," held on May 31 at the Mirae Asset Center One Building, is a growth support program focused on communication for Mirae Asset overseas exchange scholarship recipients. Through special lectures and networking activities, the scholars share their experiences and thoughts, and develop the competencies needed in a changing society together. This event, now in its fifth year since its launch in 2023, brought together 90 scholarship recipients.

Professor Jeong Jae Seung of the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at KAIST delivered a lecture titled "Reflecting on Future Opportunities through Neuroscience in the Age of Artificial Intelligence." Professor Jeong, from the perspective of a neuroscientist, engagingly explored how advances in artificial intelligence technology affect human thinking and society, offering meaningful questions and insights to young people living in the AI era.

To further facilitate interaction among the scholarship recipients, a networking program based on game-style activities was also held. Participants formed teams to find clues and solve missions, naturally fostering cooperation and communication. Positive feedback followed, with participants noting that the atmosphere of voluntary participation helped deepen their sense of closeness and solidarity.

Kim Jae Hee, a scholarship recipient who was dispatched to Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands in 2024, said, "I became interested in artificial intelligence after participating in an AI-based data analysis project during my exchange program." Kim added, "I am currently applying AI to battery material research." Kim further commented, "The MEET-UP Project gave me an opportunity to reflect more deeply on how to utilize and interpret technology."

A representative from the Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation stated, "We hope this event allowed the scholarship recipients to broaden their perspectives on technology and society, exchange diverse opinions, and expand their thinking." The representative added, "We plan to continue providing opportunities for the scholars to inspire each other and share new perspectives in the future."
