On June 4, JW JoongWai Pharmaceutical announced the launch of a new external antibiotic ointment, 'Esroban Ointment,' which contains tea tree oil, an ingredient known for its skin-soothing properties.

The new Esroban Ointment combines mupirocin, an antibacterial agent, with tea tree oil, which helps soothe the skin. This allows the product to be used not only for preventing infections in wound areas but also for managing skin troubles. The ointment comes in a tube form, making it convenient to use for various skin conditions such as wounds, folliculitis, and eczema.

The main ingredient in this product, mupirocin, is a topical antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, effectively suppressing the spread of infections. In particular, it is mainly used for antibacterial treatment as it acts against a range of bacteria, including MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus).

Tea tree oil is a natural ingredient that helps alleviate skin irritation and regulate sebum secretion. It is frequently used to manage skin troubles such as acne and redness. Recently, it has been widely used in cosmetics and quasi-drugs, and its refreshing scent provides a pleasant user experience.

With the launch of this new product, JW JoongWai Pharmaceutical plans to expand its product applications from wound care to the broader area of skin trouble care. The company will also strengthen marketing activities targeting young parents, as the ointment contains no steroid ingredients and is suitable for infants as young as two months old.

A representative from JW JoongWai Pharmaceutical stated, "The new Esroban Ointment is a topical product that considers both antibacterial and skin-soothing effects, helping users conveniently manage their skin. We will continue to strengthen our topical product portfolio through consumer-centered product development."

Meanwhile, 'Esroban Ointment' is intended to be applied thinly to the affected area two to three times per day. Users should avoid contact with the eyes or mucous membranes, and if symptoms do not improve after five days, it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional.
